Low blood pressure
My wife is on Eritel AM for her blood pressure. Since the past few months her reading is low.  It reads around 115/70 while sitting and 105/60 while lying down. Should I change her medicine from Eritel AM to simple Eritel ? Or can you please advise changing her medicine.  Thanks in advance

Hello! Based on the readings you’ve shared, your wife's blood pressure is within an acceptable range, though slightly on the lower side. It's best not to adjust her medication without consulting her primary doctor, as they’ll consider her overall health and any other conditions. For now, continue monitoring her blood pressure regularly and keep track of any symptoms like dizziness or fatigue. If these occur, reach out to her doctor promptly. Take care!
Next Steps
Monitor her BP morning and evening and chart it so it helps the consulting physician
Health Tips
Avoid having tea and coffee 2 hrs before measuring. Avoid any sterenous exercise before measuring BP.

The blood pressure is in the normal range, but it should be monitored closely. If it is further decreasing, then the dosage should be reduced.

Based on the information provided regarding your wife's low blood pressure readings while on Eritel AM, it’s important to consider a few factors before making any changes to her medication. Blood pressure readings of one hundred fifteen over seventy while sitting and one hundred five over sixty while lying down indicate that she may be experiencing orthostatic hypotension, particularly if she has symptoms such as dizziness or pedal edema. In such cases, switching from Eritel AM to simple Eritel could be advisable, especially if she is feeling dizzy when changing positions. However, any change in medication should be guided by a thorough evaluation of her overall health, existing conditions, and other medications she may be taking. I recommend that you consult with me for a comprehensive assessment to determine the best course of action. Please feel free to reach out via WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further discussion and personalized advice.

If your wife has pedal edema or if she feels dizzy while getting up from lying position or sitting position, it is advisable to change T. Eritel AM to T. Eritel. If she is asymptomatic let her continue the same dose.

Please consult your regular physician before changing the medicine. As the BP is low, she may require a lower dose of the same medicine. But don't change without consulting your regular physician as Eritel-AM could be prescribed for a certain reason.

Eritel and Eritel AM are both blood pressure medications, but they have some differences: - Eritel AM contains amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) and metoprolol (beta-blocker) - Eritel typically contains only amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) Switching from Eritel AM to Eritel may not be suitable for everyone, especially if: 1. Your doctor prescribed Eritel AM for a specific reason (e.g., combined hypertension and angina). 2. You have certain medical conditions (e.g., Arrhythmias). Before making changes, consult your doctor to discuss: 1. Reason for low BP 2. Medical history and current condition 3. Potential interactions with other medications 4. Alternative treatment options Do not stop or modify medications without medical guidance.
