Your BP of 180/110 does need treatment, so please do not stop the medicine your doctor has prescribed. Chlorthalidone (CTD) along with Ciplar LA 40 is a reasonable combination, but I would not advise you to add or change any medicine on your own. Feeling very low and weak on this combination is important, because a diuretic can lower your sodium and potassium, and propranolol can slow the pulse and cause fatigue. So please get serum sodium, potassium, creatinine, blood sugar and an ECG done, and keep a home record of your BP and pulse twice a day for a week and show it to your doctor, who can then adjust the dose or change to a better suited drug. In the meantime keep salt below one teaspoon a day, avoid pickles, papad and packaged food, walk 30 minutes daily as tolerated, and work on weight reduction since that alone will help your BP a lot. Please go to the emergency immediately if you have chest pain, severe headache with vomiting, breathlessness, weakness of one side of the body, difficulty in speech, blurred vision or fainting. You may also consult me here (fee Rs 500) or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj with your reports and BP chart.
