Gandhi Hospital is a 2,200-bed government teaching hospital on Bhoiguda Road, M.I.G.H. Colony, Musheerabad, Walker Town, Padmarao Nagar, Secunderabad, Hyderabad 500025. Established in 1851 as an infirmary, it has grown into a multispecialty teaching hospital that treats patients from Telangana and neighbouring states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. It has been affiliated with Gandhi Medical College since 1958, is recognised by the Medical Council of India, offers postgraduate medical training and works as a referral centre for complex cases.The hospital performed the first open-heart surgery in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh and was the first hospital to establish a cath lab for DM Cardiology student training. Care spans cardiac sciences, with cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and paediatric cardiology; neurology and neurosurgery; nephrology and oncology, including orthopaedic oncology; orthopaedics; obstetrics and gynaecology, with maternity care, gynaecological endoscopy, laparoscopy and infertility treatment; and paediatrics, including developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
