Sleeping issues
Hi, I'm unable to sleep lately. I sleep for only 3-4 hours daily and once in a while for 7-8 hours. I'm facing insomnia and also experiencing vertigo, nausea and fear due to that. I feel like not speaking to with anyone, even my family. I recently had a setback in career (20 days back) and it is since then I'm facing these issues. Who should I consult and how to proceed.

Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. It must have been difficult for you to share this and I appreciate your effort for doing so, it needs courage. From what you’ve said, it sounds like you’re undergoing a stressful time due to the career setback which in turn might have caused the symptoms like sleep troubles, vertigo, nausea and fear. This stress might have also caused you to withdraw from the external world including your family. This concern of yours needs to be explored further for a better understanding and this can be done through therapy. I completely understand that lack of sleep and the associated symptoms can inhibit your daily functioning which might cause irritability and frustration. It’s crucial to seek therapy at this stage because this might lead to many more mental health concerns like depression and anxiety if not attended immediately.

Hi Practo User, Sleep is an essential function that helps restore the body. Not getting enough sleep may be a significant factor that is giving rise to other physical and psychological problems mentioned by you. There might be few other underlying factors in the subconscious mind which may result in lack of sleep and along with other probable stressors. It is suggested that you consult a clinical psychologist for detailed assessment & better clarity to detect the underlying factors and it's management.
Next Steps
Visit a clinical psychologist
Health Tips
To manage the sleep you may try: 1. Reducing or removing light by using blackout curtains and using dim lighting, if required. 2. Reduce usage of electronics in the bedroom, like avoid using electronic devices for at least 30 minutes before bedtime 3. Keeping a consistent sleep schedule not napping and developing a relaxing bedtime routine 4. Try some guided meditation before going to bed. 5. Exercising during the day atleast for 15-30mins.

Wellness Greetings to you.. As of now undisturbed sleep for 3 hours is okay in terms of Health but prolonged sleep routine like this wouldn't be mentally Healthy. Try analysing the trigger points you go through during this short span of sleep time and those days where you are able to sleep 7-8 hours.
Next Steps
Just Have a session to rule out underlying causes. For further guidance you can reach me in below link
