Hi! Sleep disorders such as night terrors during the pandemic are common and frequently seen as coping mechanism used by the brain to cope with stress. However, if you are really distrusted by them you may follow these simple rules of sleep hygiene: Keep the same sleeping and waking up time. This will regulate your sleep-wake cycle Keep a length of time between sleeping and TV watching. Do not sleep while watching tv Do not consume alcohol before sleeping. It also gives rise to sleep disorders and will keep u awake Make a list of things that you have done through the day the to do list for the next day. This will give u some sense of control over the situation.
Next Steps

Ya, lockdown has actually becoming stressful event especially for the one who has been running since years from their negative phases. But for sleep disturbances, you can try out listening to sleeping music and before that to remove your stress kindly do mirror talking or writing your thoughts and trashing it away that will make you feel better.

Hi..it must be quite distressing for you. It is not easy to normalise our anxiety and to be functional. And having an earlier anxiety condition lockdown situation would make it worse. Try to just observe your anxiety and try to investigate your thoughts..see what is the response you get. Rationalising your anxious thoughts to some extent can help. But I suggest you also need to speak to a professional.
Next Steps
Find out about your fearful thoughts. start observing them.
Health Tips
But try to seek professional help at the earliest..

Hello practo user I can understand your concern and the issue is treatable. One’s sleep can be affected due to various factors such as stress, anxiety , irregular sleep schedule, and many other reasons. Also one can experience change in duration of sleep, quality of sleep etc. However these issues can be discussed in detail and the treatment plan can b decided accordingly . To begin with try physical exercises so that the body gets tired and demands sleep. Also mind relaxation excercises including sleep inducing music can be helpful. Try maintaining a diary and write down about your day and thoughts throughout the day for the better understanding of the issues that you are facing. For any further assistance,You can also reach out to me through the practo app.

Routine is the most important factor in getting good sleep, and since the routine is disturbed due to the current pandemic situation its normal to have worries and stress at a time like this as our stress and anxiety levels have risen since the lockdown as there’s so much uncertainty that we have never faced this before. Questions like will it go back to normal? Or is this the new normal? It's that unknown which causes stress and anxiety." It's hard to be locked up in your own home without being reminded we're in serious times". We’re in the same rough seas, but we’re in very different boat, some boats are leaky while some have high-powered motors on them. I suggest you to understand your anxiety triggers and watch your self talk, if you feel there too much pessimism in it, try to be aware and reframe/ rephrase it so that you are not in the “ what if “ land of assumptions . That can reduce your anxiety However if it persists, Do take telephonic consultations from a good clinical psychologist.
Next Steps
Step 1. Tell yourself you've done all you can for that day and there's nothing more to do. Then pick it up a good reading habit 30 mins before bed, which will distract you from the thought rut. Step 2 Try not to take extra naps some of us are now taking? You've got to save your sleepiness for bedtime.

Hi thanks for reaching out.... I totally understand and can feel the pain you are going through. A lot of people are feeling the same, and it’s just natural. No one expected such a radical change in our lives suddenly, that too the whole human kind! The best way to deal with this is to keep busy so that unnecessary thoughts don’t bug you. I am not sure about your job or work status, please let me know about it. Keep eating well, exercise as much as you can safely at home. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Watch some good programs on TV. Make a schedule for yourself for the entire day. Try and find out the things you wanted to do at home from a long time and take those tasks up. Speak to your friends and family on phone. Try meditation and yoga as well if you like it. If you want we can speak on phone

Hello! I can totally understand the magnitude of the issue that you have brought out here. Sleep disorders are a long list of problems where insomnia is the most common form it. Your current profession and work from home, long duration of work hours, and prolonged exposure to the laptop and phone screen could be potential reasons for your sleep related issue. More over your feelings of being stressed, low, and anxious could very well be an issue of COVID19 which is exacerbated by other work related issues as well.
Next Steps
Should get in touch with a Clinical Psychologist for more clarity and psychoeducation
Health Tips
Could browse for "Sleep Hygiene" practices and you can start following the steps. Physical activities (walk within home, simple strech, yoga, etc.) could be included on your daily schedule Reduce your caffeine consumption after 6 pm Sleep in a well ventilated room Use the washroom before hitting the bed For more details get in touch with a Clinical Psychologist

Hello. Happy that you chose this platform to write about your issues. The outbreak of Covid 19, the uncertainty around it is causing anxiety to many people, particularly those who were facing mild to moderate anxiety from before.. or are more vulnerable to stressful situations. Lack of effective stress management leads to overthinking, worrying, resulting in sleep deprivation.
Next Steps
Start with relaxation exercise for 15-20 mins everyday. Preferably guided meditation, or breathing exercise. Reduce the amount of time spent on watching news and Covid updates. Seek Counseling and therapy for managing your thoughts and emotions more efficiently.

Its quite a common symptoms for many during this lock down period. Worrying doesn't help you in any ways. It actually creates more problem in life.
Next Steps
First, write down your worried points. Then prioritize the first 3 points which is bothering you a lot. Try to understand whether these points have anything in common. For eg., money or behavioral issues and so on. This would help you in identifying the problems and start focusing on the action plans.

Hello there! I appreciate your effort to come out and address the problem you are going through. This lockdown is definitely acting as a catalyst to the increasing stress level among the population. The sleep disturbance you are going through is a manifestation of stress. First of all, the stressors need to be figured out which are causing the stress.
Next Steps
list out the stressors.  if you are not able to do so yourself, consult a psychologist to have a better understanding of your current situation and how to destress yourself.
