• Take Albendazole 400 mg once at night after food, then repeat the same dose after 14 days. This makes sure even newly hatched worms are gone.
• Everyone in your household should take the medicine at the same time to prevent the worms from coming back.
• Wash your hands well after using the toilet and before eating.
• Keep nails short, change underclothes daily, and wash bedsheets in hot water.
Extra care:
Sometimes worms can cause low blood levels (anemia), so a simple blood test (CBC) is good to check if you need any supplements.
Itching in the anus, especially at night, along with seeing small white worms (likely pinworms, Enterobius vermicularis) on toilet paper, is a classic presentation of enterobiasis.
Why it happens
Pinworms live in the intestine but crawl out at night to lay eggs around the anal skin.
This causes intense itching.
Eggs can stick to skin, clothes, bedding, and under fingernails—leading to re-infection or spread to others.
Next Steps
1) Treatment (for you and all household members at the same time to prevent reinfection):
Albendazole 400 mg once, repeat after 2 weeks
2) Mild petroleum jelly or zinc oxide cream around anus can reduce irritation.
Health Tips
Hygiene measures (to avoid reinfection):
1) Wash hands with soap after using toilet and before eating.
2) Keep fingernails short and avoid scratching.
3) Bathe every morning to remove eggs from skin.
4) Wash underwear, bedding, and nightclothes in hot water daily during treatment period.
Avoid shaking sheets or clothes (eggs can become airborne).

Take albendazole 400 mg once or Bandy plus tab , do check for complete blood count , hemoglobin , blood smear to look for any anemia since worm infestation can also lead to this , better to consult a doctor before any other symptoms of anemia occur
Health Tips
Do take anti parasitic drug like albendazole twice a year (once in 6 months) as a routine after consulting a doctor for prescription
Commonly prescribed medication is single dose Tab Albendazole 400mg to be taken after dinner at night. Chewable tablets are usually preferred. Repeat the same after two weeks. Hence only two tablets are needed. Pinworm are notorious for auto infection, therefore I suggest you to maintain proper hygiene and avoid itching with bare hands. When the person itches, the eggs get stuck in the fingers which are then accidentally ingested if hands are not washed properly with soap. Don't worry this is a common infestation. Look out for danger signs if any. I hope you get well soon:)
If it is pinworm, Tab Albendazole would be the ideal choice. However certain worms require a different tablet. Ideally, take the albendazole and take cetrizine for the itching initially. If it does not resolve then it would be best to consult a doctor in person.
Health Tips
Keep the area clean and wash your hands thoroughly after using the restroom. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist and get a stool sample taken.
