Feeling diziness
Hello Doctor, I have been experiencing dizziness on and off for some time. When I stand up or walk, I feel unsteady, as if I might fall. I also experience the same sensation while sitting on a bike or in an e-rickshaw. There is no spinning sensation, but I feel a loss of balance. I recently underwent a full body health check-up. Some of the important findings are: * Vitamin D: 13.7 ng/mL (Deficient) * Vitamin B12: 167 pg/mL (Low) * Platelet Count: 117,000/µL (Low) * HDL Cholesterol: 23.7 mg/dL (Low) * LDL Cholesterol: 131.4 mg/dL (Borderline High) My blood sugar tests (Fasting Glucose and HbA1c), thyroid profile, kidney function, and most other blood tests are within the normal range. Could these abnormal values be related to my dizziness and balance issues? Please let me know what could be the possible cause and what further evaluation or treatment you would recommend. Thank you.

Dizziness can be caused by various causes . In your case it may be due to b12 deficiency or postural hypotension or some neurological cause .
Next Steps
correct your b12 and d3 levels first and  check blood pressure level by a physician  if not improved then consult a neurophysician

Hello. Yes, your abnormal blood parameters—specifically the significant Vitamin B12 deficiency (167 pg/mL) and Vitamin D deficiency (13.7 ng/mL)—are highly likely to be linked to your dizziness and balance issues. Vitamin B12 is absolutely crucial for maintaining a healthy nervous system and myelin sheath insulation. When B12 drops this low, it can lead to mild neurological deficits that impair your proprioception (your body's innate sense of positioning and balance), which explains why you feel unsteady while standing, walking, or riding on a bike or rickshaw without experiencing a true spinning sensation (vertigo). The low platelet count 117,000 requires an independent baseline monitoring to rule out recent subclinical viral or immune factors, but the primary neurological imbalance points toward chronic vitamin depletion.
Next Steps
Recommended Clinical Approach: Targeted Nutrient Correction: You will likely require a therapeutic course of intramuscular Vitamin B12 injections (such as Methylcobalamin) or high-dose oral supplementation, along with a structured weekly high-dose Vitamin D3 protocol (60,000\text{ IU}) under active prescription supervision. Neurological & Physical Care: Avoid sudden postural changes. When waking up or standing from a sitting position, sit on the edge of the bed or chair for a minute before standing to prevent sudden orthostatic unsteadiness. Repeat Platelet Check: Schedule a repeat Complete Blood Count (CBC) test in 7 to 10 days to monitor if your platelet counts are stabilizing or picking up.
Health Tips
Word of Caution: Relying on over-the-counter multivitamin tablets will not provide a high enough dosage to adequately correct these severe baseline nerve deficiencies, meaning your balance issues could persist or slowly worsen if left unmanaged. A calculated clinical intervention and systemic monitoring are essential. For a targeted prescription protocol, direct guidance on structured dietary mapping for nerve health, and a thorough review of your lab reports, you can book a consultation via my profile or reach out directly on WhatsApp at: six three six nine four six zero five seven seven.

you have not mentioned the blood pressure. it is the most common cause for diziness, vertigo & chakkars. Do measure the blood pressure & if more than 130/86 get the medicine started for this.

Your symptoms suggest disequilibrium (imbalance) rather than true vertigo. A Vitamin B12 level of 167 pg/mL can certainly contribute to gait instability, imbalance, and neurological symptoms, while Vitamin D deficiency may worsen muscle weakness and postural instability. These deficiencies should be corrected, but they may not be the only cause. I would recommend checking orthostatic blood pressure (lying and standing), a complete neurological examination, and an ENT evaluation if symptoms persist to rule out vestibular disorders. Start Vitamin B12 replacement (preferably injections if symptomatic) and Vitamin D supplementation under medical supervision. Also repeat a CBC and evaluate the low platelet count (117,000/µL), as this requires follow-up though it is unlikely to be the primary cause of your imbalance. If you develop sudden weakness, slurred speech, severe headache, double vision, or inability to walk, seek emergency medical care immediately.
Next Steps
Cap Uprise D3 60,000 IU – 1 capsule once weekly for 8 weeks, followed by 1 capsule once monthly for 6 months. Tab Neurokind-OD – 1 tablet at bedtime daily for 2 months. Tab Stemetil MD 5 mg – 1 tablet twice daily after food for 3–5 days, if dizziness is troublesome.

Yes, your abnormal values are very likely causing your dizziness and balance issues. Vitamin B12 deficiency (167 pg/mL) is the most significant cause — low B12 directly affects the nerves controlling balance and coordination, causing unsteadiness and a 'floating' sensation without true spinning. Vitamin D deficiency (13.7 ng/mL) adds to this by causing muscle weakness, further impairing balance. Together, these two deficiencies explain your symptoms very well. Additionally, your low platelet count (117,000) needs investigation — it may indicate an underlying cause (liver issue, autoimmune, or viral) and should not be ignored. Your very low HDL (23.7) is a cardiovascular risk factor that needs dietary and lifestyle correction.
Next Steps
Start Methylcobalamin 1500mcg daily (oral) or B12 injections weekly for 4 weeks. Start Vitamin D3 60,000 IU weekly for 8–12 weeks. Repeat CBC after 4 weeks to monitor platelets — consult a physician if still low. Increase HDL through exercise and reduce refined carbs. Consult me on Practo for a personalised plan.

Hello. Based on your symptoms, this appears to be a balance problem rather than typical spinning vertigo, and it needs a detailed history and examination to identify the exact cause. Your low Vitamin B12 level can contribute to imbalance and unsteadiness, while Vitamin D deficiency may also play a role. However, other possibilities such as inner ear disorders, postural blood pressure changes, neurological conditions, or gait/balance disorders also need to be considered.
Next Steps
Please opt for a teleconsultation so I can ask a few important questions, review your reports, and guide you regarding the most likely diagnosis, required investigations, and appropriate treatment.

Aapke symptoms aur reports ke base par ye teen possibilities ho sakti hain:Neurological complications due to Vitamin B12 deficiency (affecting nerve health and coordination).Inner ear issues ya vestibular imbalances jo Vitamin D ki deficiency se worsen ho rahe hon.Orthostatic hypotension, yaani khade hote waqt blood pressure ka achanak drop hona, jo aksar deficiencies ke saath dekha jata hai.
Health Tips
Hum ek detail Consultation book karenge jisme hum:In deficiencies ke liye sahi supplementation plan decide karenge.Aapke balance issues ke liye ek physical evaluation karenge.Low platelets ke underlying cause ko investigate karenge.

Kindly do examine blood pressure and consult with me on practo with detailed family history for hypertension (blood pressure) and diabetes illness. Also with history of stroke in the family. This might be related to postural hypotension, so kindly check blood pressure in sitting, standing, and lying down position.
Next Steps
check blood pressure in sitting, standing , and lying down position. kindly consult for detailed treatment regimen
Health Tips
start tab. MVBC (multivitamin B complex) tablets for 5 days. take these tablet once in a day preferably after dinner.

Low B12 and low platelets together are notable and could contribute to unsteadiness, but a low platelet count also needs its own dedicated workup, not just linked to dizziness. Start B12/D3 correction, but get a peripheral smear and repeat CBC to clarify the platelet drop. Book a private consult so I can review your full report and guide next steps properly.
