Yes, it is reversible.  Get liver function tests done to exclude any underlying pathology. Avoid fatty food, heavy meals,  alcohol. Do regular physical exercise. If diabetes, keep it well controlled. Repeat ultrasound after 3 months.

Yes, Grade 1 fatty liver can often be reversed with lifestyle changes. Focus on gradual weight loss, regular exercise, a high-fibre balanced diet, and avoiding sugary drinks, excess refined carbohydrates, fried foods and alcohol. Medicines are usually not required for simple fatty liver unless there are associated conditions such as diabetes or dyslipidaemia. Regular liver and metabolic health monitoring is advised.

Don’t worry it’s normal many people have that. You just need to improve your lifestyle and avoid oily (fatty food) so some exercise increases fruit intake and it will be most probably normal after some time

* Aim for gradual weight loss if overweight (around 5–10% of body weight can provide significant benefit). * Exercise 150–300 minutes/week of moderate-intensity activity, with strength training 2–3 days/week. * Prefer vegetables, fruits, whole grains, pulses, nuts and adequate protein. * Reduce sugary drinks, sweets, refined flour/maida, excess rice, fried/fast foods and processed foods. * Avoid or minimise alcohol. * Control blood sugar, BP and cholesterol if abnormal. * Consider checking LFT, fasting glucose/HbA1c and lipid profile and discuss fibrosis-risk assessment with your doctor if fatty liver persists.

Grade 1 fatty liver can often improve with lifestyle changes, but it should not be ignored. Aim for gradual weight loss if overweight, 30–45 minutes of brisk walking most days, and avoid alcohol, sugary drinks and excess fried foods. Use a balanced diet with adequate protein and fibre; do not start or stop medicines without medical review. Please check liver enzymes, blood sugar and lipid profile, and consult me through Practo or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj for a tailored plan.
Next Steps
Arrange the tests above and book a consultation with me on Practo or visit Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj for review.

Grade 1 fatty liver is usually reversible, especially when there is no significant fibrosis. Medicines are not routinely required for simple fatty liver; lifestyle modification is the main treatment. If overweight, aim for 5–10% gradual weight loss. Prefer vegetables, whole fruits, whole grains, pulses, nuts, fish and other protein-rich foods. Reduce sugar, sweets, soft drinks/fruit juices, refined carbohydrates, fried/fast foods and excess saturated fat. Avoid or minimise alcohol. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week, combining aerobic activity with resistance exercise. Check LFT, HbA1c/fasting glucose and lipid profile and assess fibrosis risk with FIB-4; consider FibroScan when indicated.

Increase protein intake which will keep your stomach full for longer. Daily recommended protein intake is your weight in grams. Exercise at least 5 days a week. Walking after meals.
Next Steps
Get checked for improvements in 6 months to a year… USG AND LFT
Health Tips

Yes. Grade 1 fatty liver (mild hepatic steatosis) can often be reversed with lifestyle measures alone, particularly when there is no significant liver inflammation or fibrosis. Medicines are not routinely required just because an ultrasound shows grade 1 fatty liver. The most important measures are gradual weight reduction if overweight, regular exercise, and a balanced calorie-controlled diet. Even a 3–5% reduction in body weight can reduce liver fat; greater weight loss may provide additional benefit.
Next Steps
1. Diet: More vegetables, whole fruits, whole grains, dal, fish/egg/chicken, curd and nuts in moderation. 2. Avoid/restrict: Alcohol, sugary drinks/juices, sweets, fried/fast foods, bakery/maida products and excess refined carbohydrates. 3. Exercise ≥150 min/week and lose weight gradually if overweight. 4. Maintain good control of diabetes, cholesterol and BP if present.
Health Tips
Since it has persisted for 3 years, get LFT, HbA1c/fasting glucose, lipid profile and discuss fibrosis assessment (e.g., FIB-4/FibroScan) with your doctor. Avoid unproven “liver detox” supplements/herbal medicines.
