If you are experiencing ongoing fatigue, weakness in your legs and hands, and sleepiness despite having normal blood
sugar levels, it is important to consider other nutritional and health factors.
• Fatigue and weakness can result from low levels of iron,
vitamin B12, or
vitamin D, because of nutritional deficiency. So, you could check the levels.
• An imbalanced
thyroid can also lead to fatigue. So, having a test done would be helpful.
• Include iron-rich foods such as finger millet, pearl millet, lentils, beans, chickpeas, spinach, amaranth, tofu, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, and dried fruits such as raisins. Non-vegetarians can include options like eggs, seafood, and chicken in your diet.
• Improve iron absorption from plant foods by combining them with vitamin C-rich foods such as lemon juice, oranges, tomatoes, or bell peppers.
• Vitamin B12 is naturally present in animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy, which helps non-vegetarians while vegetarians need to consume dairy, eggs, and foods fortified with B12 or consider taking supplements to avoid deficiency.
• Make sure to get enough vitamin D through fortified foods and safe sun exposure between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
• Stay well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet.
