My mother had recently suffered IOL dislocation in both her eyes, because of which her normal vision and her routine life was impaired.

I consulted one of the top notch doctor having the reputation of perhaps being the best in the country when it comes to matters related to retina. Plus I had discussions with some of the very senior vitreoretinal surgeons in Mumbai. But the comfort and explanation which Dr. Sawant gave was par excellence. I was very anxious at the start of our discussion and defensive as well when it came to implanting new lenses after removal of her old and disloged lenses. I simply wanted Dr. Sawant to remove the old lenses which had displaced in my mother's eyes and prescribe her spectacles, even if they could be of very high power.

Dr. Sawant in a very professional manner understood my anxiety and hesitation to go for reimplantation of new lenses and patiently explained me in a simple lucid language which a non medical person like me would understand and convinced me to go for reimplantation of new lenses as a part of the surgery. Dr. Sawant explained the downside of wearing very high power glasses on a daily basis and how it would eventually negatively impact my mother's routine life.

Eventually with faith in GOD and my trust which Dr. Sawant had earned, I got my mother's right eye operated about two weeks back.

Inspite of her age, the recovery has been as predicted by Dr. Sawant earlier itself. This re -enforces Dr. Sawant's experience and his mastery over the subject concerning a human eye.

Dr. Sawant didn't suggest us any unwanted medication and / or medical tests before, during and after the surgery.

I was super impressed by Dr. Sawant's down to earth nature when he himself performed the B Scan / Sonography of my mother's eyes. He could had hired an assistant to do the same, yet he paid personal attention to this matter.

The other good thing is Dr. Sawant personally performs all the surgeries irrespective of their complexities, as opposed to some other well known doctors who prefer to either do only a portion of the surgery while the other portion is done by the junior doctors and / or get the entire surgery done by some junior doctors while the patients gets charged for the brand name of the hospital / doctor.

Inspite of his education and his privileged personal background, Dr. Sawant is humble and polite with patients. Even though I had very flat and direct questions which might had offended some other senior doctors, Dr. Sawant understood my intent behind those questions and gave satisfactory answers to those.

I am super impressed by Dr. Sawant's honesty, simplicity, his GOD fearing nature, his command over the matters concerning a human eye, his professional set up comprising of latest equipments & facilities, and his patient friendly staff overall.

My case was an emergency Post my cataract surgery (at another hospital), the retina on my eye detached. I was referred to Dr. Sawant by the doctor who treated my cataract and he immediately agreed to see me. Upon looking at the results he immediately recommended that I undergo the surgery and also explained that there are chances of the retina detaching again. The surgery was performed and I recovered very well. I was severely facing a red eye and post that conjunctivitis. Dr. Sawant was my third and final consultation I went to. He has an amazing approach for identifying the issue and remediate similarly. The way he suggested me medicines over time helped me cure the issue I had with my eye that the previous two doctors I had been to were not able to identify. Eye is an very sensitive organ and needs proper care and treatment. Dr. Sawant is a person who patiently checks and advises the best practices to restore your eye health.
