Sharp cusp or rough filling on the teeth near the ulcerated area
Friction while chewing, especially during sleep
Nutritional deficiencies like Vitamin B-complex deficiency
In rare cases, stress or night-time teeth grinding (bruxism) can also contribute
Next Steps
Apply a medicated gel like Dologel-CT or Kenacort 2â3 times daily using a clean finger. Avoid swallowing. Avoid spicy, hot, or acidic foods that may delay healing. Take a B-complex supplement once daily for 5â7 days. Warm saline rinses (lukewarm water + pinch of salt) 2â3 times a day can help reduce inflammation and aid healing. Visit a dentist in person to: Check for sharp tooth edges or fillings Smoothen the area if needed Confirm that itâs a traumatic ulcer and not something else
Health Tips
If the ulcer does not improve in 10â15 days, or increases in size, further evaluation might be required to rule out rare causes. Please avoid long-term self-medication without a dental check-up.
