Hypothyroidism Tab thyroxin (thyronorm100mcg) one before breakfast for two months. Ust go for follow up with md physician afterwards. Add Calcijoint XT one at night as thyroxin is calcium depleting agent. Your bones become weak.

Opinion: A TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) level above 10 mIU/L indicates hypothyroidism, which means your thyroid gland is underactive and not producing enough thyroid hormones. This condition is usually treated with levothyroxine, a synthetic thyroid hormone that replaces the deficient hormone in your body. High TSH levels can result from primary hypothyroidism (most commonly due to autoimmune thyroiditis, also known as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis) or other causes like iodine deficiency. Left untreated, hypothyroidism can lead to complications like fatigue, weight gain, and other metabolic or cardiovascular issues. Next Steps: 1. Medications: • Levothyroxine: The dose depends on factors such as your weight, age, and severity of the hypothyroidism. A typical starting dose is 25–50 mcg per day, but the exact dose should be determined by your doctor. • Take levothyroxine on an empty stomach in the morning, 30–60 minutes before breakfast, and avoid consuming calcium or iron supplements within 4 hours, as these can interfere with absorption. 2. Monitoring: • Recheck TSH and free T4 levels 6–8 weeks after starting treatment to adjust the dosage. • Once your thyroid levels stabilize, TSH can be monitored every 6–12 months. 3. Lifestyle Adjustments: • Eat a balanced diet with adequate iodine (e.g., iodized salt, seafood) but avoid excessive iodine intake, which can worsen thyroid dysfunction. • Exercise regularly to manage weight gain and fatigue associated with hypothyroidism. 4. Consultation: • Visit an endocrinologist to confirm the diagnosis and start treatment. • Additional tests, such as free T3, free T4, and anti-thyroid antibodies (TPOAb), may be recommended to determine the cause of your hypothyroidism. 5. Symptoms to Monitor: • Watch for symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, or swelling in the neck (goiter). With proper medication, these symptoms should improve over time. It is important to start treatment under the guidance of a doctor to ensure the correct dosage and monitor progress effectively. Please consult an endocrinologist or a general physician for a prescription and follow-up care.
