A low T4 result needs to be interpreted alongside TSH, whether the test was free or total T4, its reference range and your symptoms. The number alone cannot show the cause or seriousness, and it is not enough to choose treatment.

Only basis of T4 you can't start the treatment and also can't understand the real physiology of this.
Must attach your thyroid report.
In which we test the T3,T4 and TSH also.
And then we decide that if T3,T4 is low and TSH is high - Hypothyroidism
T3,T4 high and TSH low - Hyperthyroidism
It can be due to chronic stress in the body and also due to sedentary lifestyles and many more to add.

Low amount of t4 is not the only requirement for diagnosing hypothyroidism. There are many reasons behind thyroid disorders. You should consult physician with complete thyroid profile like tsh,t3 also

Please share your symptoms, complete thyroid profile. Decision of treatment is based on that.
