Dear Patient,
Swelling around the anus that appears suddenly can be due to hemorrhoids (piles), anal abscess, or local irritation. Since this is your first episode and started just 2 days ago, it is usually not serious, but needs monitoring.
What you should do
- Keep the area clean and dry
- Take warm sitz baths 2–3 times a day to reduce swelling and discomfort
- Avoid straining during bowel movements; include fiber-rich foods and adequate water
- Over-the-counter pain relief or topical ointments can help with discomfort

- Increasing pain, redness, or pus discharge (possible abscess)
