Sleeping problem
I have been experiencing sleep problems for the past 10 years, which means I don't fall asleep immediately. But from the last 2-3 week I am unable to sleep at all at night. As morning approaches, I get a little sleep. After sleeping for two to three hours, I wake up, but I remain lying in bed. This has led to a change in my eating and drinking schedule. What should I do? Please advise.

Persistent sleep issues impact overall well-being. Establish a consistent sleep routine: go to bed and wake up at the same time daily. Create a relaxing pre-sleep routine, limit caffeine, and screen time before bedtime. If problems persist, consult a psychologist to explore underlying causes and develop tailored strategies for better sleep hygiene and overall mental health.

Hi Thanks for reaching out. You have been having sleep problems since past ten years. You have not been able to sleep well at night since past two to three weeks. Consult a psychologist and explain about your sleep pattern. With a psychologist you can explain about your lifestyle and work schedule. I suggest consulting a psychologist and explain about your sleep schedule in detail. A psychologist would like to know what is the cause of sleep deprivation since the past ten years. Talking to a psychologist will help you feel better. A psychologist will also guide you on how you can make changes to your lifestyle that will enable you to sleep well.
Next Steps
Consult a psychologist.

Contact me for counselling sessions. Along with counselling I can suggest natural foods to calm the mind.

Hello are there any other symptoms apart from lack of sleep? Because lack of sleep is actually a symptom, not a problem in itself. It can be caused due to negative thoughts, overthinking, stress, anxiety. So we need to figure out what exactly is happening. You let me know the content of your thoughts so we can work it out. You can consult me for the same. All the best.

It's important to acknowledge the impact sleep problems can have on various aspects of life. You may consider adopting healthy sleep hygiene practices like establishing a consistent sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, and ensuring your sleep environment is comfortable. Limiting caffeine and electronic device use before bedtime can also contribute to better sleep. Given the changes in your eating and drinking schedule, it might be helpful to pay attention to your overall daily routine. Maintaining a balanced diet and staying hydrated can positively influence both your sleep and overall well-being. A therapist can help explore potential stressors, anxiety, or other psychological factors contributing to your sleep difficulties.
