RCT Issue
I had my root canal few years back but today while having lunch, my teeth cap fell off. I am fine and have no pain. But why did it happen? My doctor said to meet him after 7 days as he is travelling. Can i wait or get it fixed asap?

You might have had something sticky which caused debonding of your crown. Its better to get it fixed as your cap might not fit properly if you wait too long.

The debonding must have happened due to eating something sticky or very hard. Since, the tooth is root canal treated, so you will not experience any pain . Henc, you can wait for the doctor for a week, then get it treated.

De-bonding of crown can happen due to many reasons. Since the tooth has RCT , it will not develop any sensitivity. You can wait for a week, no problem . However take care not to eat hard food over it before it is cemented.

If your teeth cap fell off and you're not experiencing any pain or discomfort, it's generally not an urgent issue. However, it's still important to address the situation as soon as possible to prevent further complications. Several reasons could contribute to a dental cap coming off, including: Decay: If there is decay or damage to the underlying tooth structure, it can weaken the bond between the tooth and the cap, causing it to come loose. Wear and tear: Over time, dental caps can become loose or worn out due to regular use and biting forces. This may cause the cap to dislodge. Trauma or injury: An accident or injury to the mouth can cause a cap to fall off if it gets dislodged or damaged. It's advisable to consult your dentist as soon as you can, even if you're not experiencing any pain. They will be able to assess the situation and determine the best course of action. Waiting for seven days should generally be fine as long as you're not in pain or experiencing any other concerning symptoms. However, if you're unsure or if the situation changes, it's always a good idea to contact your dentist and discuss the best course of action with them. Remember, only a qualified dentist who can physically examine your teeth can provide a proper diagnosis and recommend the appropriate treatment.
