The pain may be due to injury to supporting tissue of tooth(periodontal ligament) or the tooth fractured up to pulp layer( nerve layer)..
First and foremost X_ray should be taken to rule out the extent of fracture
If the fracture is up to dentine level ,then simple esthetic fillings of composite is enough...
If the fracture reaches nerve layer( pulp layer) then Root canal treatment followed by capping is necessary
