Long-term medications are those taken for months or longer to manage chronic conditions like high cholesterol. Rosuvas (rosuvastatin) lowers LDL cholesterol and reduces cardiovascular risk. Common side effects include muscle pain and occasional mild elevation of liver enzymes (SGPT/SGOT). Your current levels (SGPT 18, SGOT 19, A/G ratio 2.34) are normal, indicating no liver stress. Regular liver function tests (LFTs) every 3-6 months are essential while on statins. Report symptoms like muscle pain or jaundice promptly. Rosuvas is often a long-term treatment but is safe when monitored regularly, with adjustments.
