Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. It must have been difficult for you to step out and share this and I appreciate your efforts in doing so. Worry not, you’ve taken the first step in your mental health journey and you don’t have to suffer alone. All the symptoms that you’ve mentioned indicate anxiety issues and you’ve also said that you never had this issue before. Thus, it could be because of any traumatic event or triggers related to that event due to which frequent nightmares and fear could have occurred or these symptoms could have been present for a long time but could have reached a higher intensity now that made you realise. Either way, you need immediate professional help to alleviate the symptoms. Eventhough these symptoms are identifiable as anxiety concerns, we need to discuss further to find out the underlying reasons for it and learn healthy ways to cope with it.
Next Steps
Please book an appointment with me via practo, as you would be provided with a safe and non-judgemental space to talk about it and we could go about learning beneficial coping mechanisms. Hope to hear from you soon - take care.

our thinking about panic attacks that make you suffer is: Panic is dangerous. They can cause me to faint. They can cause heart attacks. They can make me lose my mind. They can make me go crazy. In reality, none of the things mentioned above happen and you think these things because you are very scared by the experience of the first few panic attacks. The scary experience makes us think that panic attacks are really dangerous. You cannot make out logical explanations for what you are feeling. You get frustrated and draw obvious conclusions from what you experience or feel. You need to change these thoughts at the perception level. It is done with a technique called cognitive restructuring. In simple terms: Changing the way you think and feel about the symptoms of panic attacks. It is about understanding the reality of panic and its sensations. The best example: Thinking logically. Suppose you are an anxiety sufferer and you always panic. You have palpitations and chest pain every now and then. You are always scared that it should not be a heart attack. During panic you say –“Maybe this time it is a heart attack!” But you simply ignore the fact that to have a heart attack you need to have a large heart blockage. You don’t have it. Therefore you cannot have a heart attack. Secondly, the ones who have heart attacks do not experience extreme fear as you do. You experience extreme fear. It simply means that you are thinking negatively about heart palpitations and chest pains you have in panic attacks. Now you don’t need to think that way because now you have analyzed that panic is not dangerous(Even medical research says that). Likewise, you can put a lie to all the negative conclusions you draw from your experience of fear. Your behavioral habits in panic attacks that make you suffer are: You avoid the places where you experienced panic attacks previously. You avoid the situations where you experienced panic attacks. (Like a stage, a function, etc.) You resist the sensations and feeling that you get during panic attacks. You get upset about feeling like this. You keep thinking about it and you are always alarmed that you should not have another panic attack. All of the above behaviors increase your anxiety and this, in turn, makes you have more panic attacks and make you phobic of the places and situations you avoid. Universal panic law: Fear increases when resisted and decreases when “endured daringly” or “demanded more.” If we violate this law we panic. The one who violates this law is bound to suffer! If you keep fearing the anxiety-provoking situations and keep running run away from them you intensify your fears and you can never come out of them. If you need to get rid of anxiety and panic you need to do the exact opposite of that. You exactly need to do this: Don’t avoid the places where you experienced panic attacks previously. Instead, gather courage, have the daring to get into those places by taking gradual steps. Like for example, if you panicked in a car, first stand near a car until your fear vanishes, then sit in the standing car until your fear vanishes, then get the car going at very low speed, then, later on, go on increasing the speed. Finally, take the car on a highway and see that your fear has vanished completely. Similarly, stop avoiding situations where you experienced panic attacks. Take small steps and expose yourself to the situations that make you anxious and at each and every step go on reducing your fears. Now the most important thing. Stop resisting the sensations you feel in panic attacks. Follow Universal Panic Law mentioned above. The sensations of panic attacks are not at all dangerous. You just need to make yourself strong to be capable of enduring them. It does not happen overnight. It has to be mastered with practice. Lastly, don’t get upset about feeling like that. Don’t keep thinking about it and curse yourself for feeling like that. Have a mental balance and think with a stable mind. Nothing is wrong with you. Only that you are feeling unnecessary fear which is difficult to bear. You are already a strong person for enduring this fear so no need to consider yourself weak or inadequate. Be calm and be positive.

When you feel lonely, when you feel insecure, when you have fear of losing something or someone, when you see this world is ending, when you experience emptiness in life, when there is no motivation to move ahead in life, when you afraid of society, when you imagine the consequences of past actions, when you hear continuously misfortunes of people and situations, when you watch terrible incidents........ some of these factors might be contributed for your abnormal state of body and abnormal state of mind. No issues you can overcome these in few days or weeks, provided there is light modifications in your lifestyle, food and counselling sessions. Good luck.
