It is not a dirty wound, just a simple prick. If you have not been vaccinated ever for tetanus, it is advisable to take the injection. If your last tetanus vaccine was more than 10 years ago, then you have to take the injection. However if you have taken tetanus injection within last 10 years, then another shot is not required.
