Hoped for better: Explanation of the health issueTreatment satisfaction
*** * **** **** *** ********** **** *** ** ****** ******* ********** **** *** ********** ****** ***** *****We went to the Dr with a shoulder pain. He asked for x-ray and MRI and confirmed that there is a calcium formed
in the shoulder causing the pain.
As a remedy he suggested that the Operation is the only option. He confirmed that the reocvery period is
3 months for this with no side effects and the shoulder moments will be normal as before the operation.
We have undegone the operation one and half years back. Post operation he told to have the hand in
the sling for almost 3 months and recommended Physiotherapy around 3 months.
Also the Dr only suggested to take the physiotherapy service from the same hospital as the Physiotherapist is good (Physiotherapist from ZOI is Rajnikanth)
and will be helpful in recovery.
By the time physiotherapy started the hand moments are restricted almost like no hand moment.
The physio on the first day it self said why it is so late to start the physio and started the exercises. ******* *********** **** **** ****** *** ******** ** ****** **** *** ********** **** ******** ** ***** **** *** ******** **** ***** ******** **** *******
This was shown and informed to the Dr but no diagnosis done. Just suggested with the pain killers to go ahead.
The physio from ZOI did the exercices for 5 months and then said Am not helpful and gave a contact of another physio
saying he is more experienced.
We consulted that physio immediately *** ** *** ***** ******* ****** ** **** * *** ******** **** ** *** *** ****** * *** **** ** * ******* *** *** **** **** **** ** *** ******* * **** ** ***** *** ******* He tried for 3 months and
said it resulted into Frozen shoulder and said that the physio and exercieses will not be helpful.
Meanwhile we were seeing the Dr every month and he didnt said any about shoulder tightness or no improvement with
the physio - he always said, do the physio, exercies and it will come.
When we asked about the frizen shoulder at around 9 months, he said yes it is now adhesive capsulitis and asked for MRI.
When he saw the MRI said , there is still inflammation - wait for 2 months and come back for cosultation.
We met the Dr in Jun - which is exactly one year post operation. The hand moments are very much restricted like the
moments are less than 90 degress and no external rotation.
The Dr said - Now it is frozen shoulder. Physio will not be helpful. Not sure if there will be any improvements now on.
** *** **** *** *** **** **** *****
**** ******** **** *** ** *** **** **** ********** *** *********** When we saw the Dr on the first day we had
all the hand moments, no restrictions and the only problem was little pain while trying to touch the back of the body.
One year post operation, hand moment is very much restricted like less than 90 degrees and could not use the hand for daily routines
*** ** ** ******* ** ** **** **** ******
We insisted that we want the hand moments and asked for the options - Dr suggested that the option is capsular release.
At this point we met Dr from different hospitals for Second opinion. *** *** **** **** **** *** ***** ********** **** ** ** ******* **** ********* **** *** ***** ********* **** *** *** ****** ** ******* * **** * ******* *** ****** * ******* *** **** *** ******** *** ********* *** ** *** ****** *** ** ** ****** ***** * ***** ** *** * ****** **** **** **** *** ******** ******** **** ** ** **** *** **** ** *** *** **** **** *** ******* ** *** ** ********* ** **** **** ******* **** ** *** **** ******** ** *** ********* ************ **** **** ** **** **** *** **** ** ****** ******* ********** **** *** ******** *** ******** ******** *** **** **** **** *** ** ***** **** ********* *** **** ****** **** **** **** ****** **** ** ***** ************* ***** the Dr said to start the physio immediately and get it done twice a day for the first couple of weeks.
We have done with the operation from the Dr and started the physio from the next day itself. This time we got the passive
hand moments but no active moments.
When we met the Dr, he said the shoulder is week due to immobility or not using for a Year. It needs strengthening and Do
not see a reason on why the active moment will not come.
He asked for monthly review and every month there is a little to no improvement. For 6 months he said, You have to do
Physio and exercise and there is no alternative.
Now after 6 months of the second operation - the hand moments is still restriceted at around 90 degrees for front and
side hand rise. No hand moment above shoulder , no external rotation and the hand cannot be used for daily routines.
The Dr said, this is what you will have and not sure if there will be any improvement. Physiotherapy or exercise may not
be helful now onwards. You keep on doing the exercises and you may or may not get the improvement.
When we reminded him that at the time of operation you said that we will get near normal moments. He is saying yes
I said but there is no result as much I have expected.
Now he is saying this is what you have. We told him that we are not happy with this restricted hand moment.
We trusted you and travelled with you for 2 years *** *** **** **** **** *** **** ***** **** ****.

Am not sure why there is no improvement. Overall a nice experience in meeting with Dr. Ramesh. he has politely listened to the whole problem and explained back to me about it's detail. it was a great confidence building measure for me since now I have a much better understanding of my problem and could fathom it's intensity and address it in the right direction and spirit. The consultation fee is quite reasonable and he rather desisted me to go for the avoidable screenings and other related tests and rather focused on ground breaking physio therapy treatment, which is a fair indicator that he is more patient centric in addressing their problems and not otherwise.moreover I would equally appreciate the physiotherapist referred by him in the same hospital. they are equally awesome. they are exceptionally well in their services and strike at the roots of the problem. I really liked how meticulously they give ear to each of the details shared by you with them. the facilities at the site and the overall ambience is worth mentioning and gives you a soothingly vibes. Overall, I could cut a feeling that I was in the safe hands.my best wishes to the hospital and all of their team members for a great success.
