Air Pollution has a negative impact on Health. Chronic exposure to pollution can lead to upper respiratory symptoms , lower respiratory symptoms and cardiovascular and Neuro Behavioral health.It leads to increase in breathing problems, cough, allergic rhinitis, headache, eye irritation, blurred vision, drunken feeling, forgetfulness and hypertension and tachycardia.It leads to aggravated asthma, COPD, lung cancer and heart attacks.Main pollutants are PM2.5 and PM 10.Indoor pollution includes biomass fuels, burning of wood, leaves cow dung and waste produces pollution which is hazardous .Outdoor air pollution includes Motor vehicular emissions, industrial gases and fumes. Adulterated gas used to save money is a hazard.  It includes gases like sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, and others.Over the years there is rise in air pollution and Mumbai is poor in its air quality index now as per the data.There is 25 percent rise in respiratory cases including asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis.Patients should not skip their medicines and go to the doctor immediately when necessary.People with respiratory and cardiovascular problems should avoid or minimise time outdoors.  They should reduce physical exertion. Wear N95 mask.
