42 years female with right loin pain. On investigation found to have renal Angiomyolipoma.

Embolisation of Renal Angiomyolipoma

Smaller Angiomyolipomas does not create problems. But they grow very large more than 4 cms in one year. Larger than 5 cms and with aneurysms, pose a risk of rupture which is a medical emergency as it’s potentially life-threatening.

The second problem can arise when renal angiomyolipoma takes over so much kidney causing functional impairment leading to chronic kidney disease.

Selective embolisation of these lesions is very successful and apt treatment choice.

Interventional radiology procedures are done through one single small puncture. No cut no suture no scar. Minimally invasive- less hospital stay, faster recovery, fewer chances of infection.
