We consulted Dr. Nikhita Trehan in Delhi after an ultrasound report suggested that my wife had an ovarian cyst. We went to her expecting a careful assessment and guidance on the next appropriate steps.

Dr. Trehan immediately recommended laparoscopic surgery and told us that my wife should be admitted and operated on without delay. She also told us that there was no need for an MRI and that we could directly proceed with a PET scan, followed by surgery to remove the “cyst.”

What was particularly alarming was the repeated emphasis on the possibility of cancer.
