I had been experiencing occasional pain at the back of my molar(lower) on both sides alternately.. I had my OPG done. The OPG report showed that both my wisdom teeth are tilted(almost touching the sides) to its adjacent molar teeth.. The report also showed that the wisdom teeth is lying very closely to a nerve.. Do I really need extraction? Are there any other alternative method?

Hello, you can do warm salt water rinses, this will help to relieve your pain.Visit an Oral surgeon and get it checked. also get a CBCT done to check the location of nerve.
Please get a CBCT done. The thumb rule is to extract the wisdom tooth in such situations but it's important to see proximity to the nerve. That's gonna be the deciding key- CBCT.

Hello
Wisdom teeth are not useful in mouth for Chewing. They cause pain while erupting and need to be extracted. The position of the teeth may affect other teeth in mouth and they may get damaged too.
For now you can use salt and warm water for temporary relaxation.

Hi. As your wisdom tooth are tilted so you do need to get extraction done as that occasional pain can turn into continuous pain later as time goes on. Also those wisdom tooth if they get decayed may also cause the adjacent tooth to get decayed. As regard to nerve touching the tooth, that cannot be judged accurately on the OPG. It will be better if you consult your doctor regarding the same. He might advise you a CBCT scan of the Jaw to determine whether the nerve is actually touching the tooth.

Visit an oral surgeon for a second opinion. But if the wisdom tooth is tilted, it has less chances of erupting. Extraction of these teeth is the only permanent solution. Get a CBCT done to know the tooth-nerve relation.
Next Steps
Warm saline gargles 3-4 times during the day will reduce the pain temporarily
For Wisdom tooth that are tilted and giving trouble best treatment is extraction. As it is in contact with adjacent tooth it can damage it which should not happen as second molar is important so best option is to get it extracted. Since its close to nerve get it extracted from experienced oral surgeon.
