There is blood in saliva when spit
For the past year, I have been experiencing blood in my saliva when I spit, mostly first thing in the morning when I wake up. This happens once or twice a day. The blood does not seem to be coming from my teeth or anywhere else inside my mouth; it feels like it is coming from deeper within. I do not experience any pain or other physical discomfort associated with it.

Repeated blood in saliva for a year deserves an examination even without pain. The apparent depth of the bleeding does not reliably identify its source: the mouth, nose, throat and airways need to be considered. A photograph alone cannot establish where it is coming from.
Next Steps
Arrange a prompt in-person review with a physician, with a dental or ENT examination as indicated. Bring details of how often it occurs, whether it follows coughing or vomiting, and any medicines you take.
Health Tips
Seek emergency care if the amount is more than a few streaks, or there is breathing difficulty, chest pain, faintness or ongoing bleeding. Do not dismiss recurrent bleeding simply because it is painless.

Blood-streaked saliva once or twice a day, mainly on waking, with no pain and no other symptoms for a year usually comes from a small bleed in the nose or throat lining overnight, from dryness or mild irritation, or from the gums bleeding without you noticing while asleep.
Next Steps
See a dentist first to rule out the gums, then an ENT doctor if that's clear, since they can look directly at your nose and throat. Keeping the room humidified at night and avoiding nose picking or hard brushing can help meanwhile.
Health Tips
See a doctor sooner if the amount increases, you start coughing up blood, or you notice weight loss, night sweats or breathlessness.
