there are a few possible causes of swollen gums in children. Here are some common factors to consider: Gum infection or gingivitis: Poor oral hygiene can lead to the accumulation of plaque and bacteria, resulting in gum inflammation. This can cause swelling, redness, and discomfort. Teething: If your daughter is still in the process of losing baby teeth and getting permanent teeth, teething can cause gum sensitivity and swelling. Gum injury or trauma: Any injury or trauma to the gums, such as accidental biting or a blow to the mouth, can cause swelling and discomfort. Dental abscess: A dental abscess is a pus-filled infection that can develop in or around the gums. It may cause localized swelling, pain, and tenderness. It's important to have your daughter evaluated by a dentist to determine the exact cause of the swelling. The dentist will examine her gums, review her dental history, and possibly take X-rays to identify any underlying issues. Based on the diagnosis, appropriate treatment will be recommended. In the meantime, you can encourage your daughter to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing her teeth gently twice a day and using a soft-bristled toothbrush. Warm saltwater rinses may provide temporary relief from discomfort. Avoid giving her any hard or chewy foods on the affected side until she sees the dentist. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible to have your daughter's gums assessed and receive appropriate treatment for her specific condition.
