It sounds like you’re experiencing antibiotic‐associated diarrhea—a known side effect of azithromycin. While a little loose stool can occur after antibiotics, having diarrhea that lasts five days is something that deserves further evaluation. Immediate Recommendations: • Stay Hydrated: Make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids (water, oral rehydration solutions, or clear broths) to prevent dehydration. • Monitor Your Symptoms: Watch for any additional signs like severe abdominal pain, blood or mucus in your stool, high fever, or signs of dehydration (such as dizziness or reduced urination). • Diet: Stick to a bland diet (for example, bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast) until your diarrhoea improves. • Seek Medical Evaluation: if your diarrhea has persisting for several days, it’s important to contact your doctor or consult with me to determine the best investigation, treatment and management approach. Longer-Term Considerations: use of probiotics or other measures to help restore your gut flora once your acute symptoms improve—but this should be done under their guidance of doctor. Please consult a General Physician in your area. Azithromycin rarely causes diarrhoea, certainly not lasting for 5 days.

Hi! This is a well known side effect of the medication. I would advise you to stop the medication if you haven't. You could start a probiotic, avoid caffeine/tea in diet, milk free diet and soft food- preferably home cooked. Do take enough water and if your loose motions aren't settling, ORS with water would help with recovery. You can always connect for a consult if required
