Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. Your CT Thorax report shows features of bronchitis, which means mild inflammation of the airways, but no pneumonia or serious lung infection. This is a good sign and usually improves with proper care and medication. A small incidental kidney stone (6 x 4 mm) has also been noted on the right side, which can be managed conservatively in most cases.
â Advices
ïStay well hydrated and drink 3 to 3.5 liters of water daily. This helps both in clearing mucus and flushing out the kidney stone.
ïAvoid exposure to dust, smoke, strong perfumes, and cold air. Take warm water steam inhalation twice a day.
ïExpert suggestion â Include turmeric and ginger in your diet; both have natural anti-inflammatory properties that soothe airways.
What to Monitor
ïNote if you develop cough with thick phlegm, breathlessness, or chest tightness.
ïObserve for flank pain or burning during urination due to the kidney stone.
Management
For bronchitis, short courses of bronchodilators, expectorants, or inhalers may be advised after clinical evaluation. For the kidney stone, drink adequate water, add lemon water once daily, and avoid excessive salt. Both conditions can be managed well without major procedures at this stage.
When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
ïIf you develop high fever, worsening cough, or breathlessness.
ïIf chest pain increases or you feel wheezing or tightness in breathing.
ïIf you get severe one-sided back pain, blood in urine, or burning urination.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, itâs important to discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail.
