Quary for rabis
The first time a cat scratched me, I took the full vaccine course along with TT on 18 March 2024. Next time, after another scratch, I again took 2 booster doses on 11 January 2025. After that, once more in May, when I was scratched, I again took 2 booster doses on 23 May 2025. Now, on 16 August 2025, the cat has scratched me again. From 23 May to 16 August, it has been 86 days. Do I need to take the vaccine again? There was no visible blood with the naked eye — I couldn’t tell if blood had actually come out. But the cat is not vaccinated. I am applying Neosporin antibiotic ointment on the area where the cat scratched me.

It's not required. ARV give immunity for 1-2 years. And you take ARV almost 3-4 times. Just wash with soap and water and clean the area.
Next Steps

As per the vaccination schedule and your history of previous complete vaccination and booster dose. Your recent cat scratch has not exceeded the 90 days limit, so you don't have to take the vaccine.
Next Steps
Clean your wounds until it heals.
Health Tips
Do vaccinate the cat if it is your pet. Be cautious before you handle a pet in public or friends place.

Hello, You have already taken the full anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) course in March 2024, followed by booster doses in January 2025 and May 2025. According to WHO guidelines: Once a person has completed a full vaccine course, for any new exposure, only 2 booster doses (Day 0 and Day 3) are required. If another scratch happens within 3 months (90 days) of the last booster, no further vaccination is usually needed. In your case: Last booster: 23 May 2025 Current scratch: 16 August 2025 (86 days later) his is still within 90 days, so no additional vaccine doses are required at present. What you should do: Wash the wound/scratch immediately with plenty of soap and running water. Apply an antiseptic (you are already using Neosporin, which is fine). Observe the cat closely for 10 days – if it remains healthy and active, risk is minimal. TT is not needed again if your last dose was recent (within 5 years). Only if the scratch had occurred after 90 days from the last booster, or if the exposure was severe, would 2 booster doses be advised again. Still, I recommend discussing with a local physician/ID specialist for confirmation as per national guidelines. Regards, Dr. Romain Rajan

Would like to know more on this. Since you have completed your course and got the booster dose the second time that too recently, you need not take it again. Although it is to be brought to notice that if at all the skin has been scratched with blood visible, then please do take ERIG/HRIG. In order to know more in detail will need a proper consult.
