Hello,
Thank you for sharing your concern. From what you've described â gum swelling, bleeding, and general uneasiness â it strongly suggests gum inflammation, most likely gingivitis or early periodontitis.
ð Whatâs likely happening:
Gum swelling and bleeding are commonly caused by:
Plaque and tartar buildup (most common)
Poor oral hygiene
Vitamin C deficiency
Hormonal changes or stress
Occasionally, systemic health issues or immune changes
Even if the swelling seems reduced, bleeding indicates the problem still exists.
Next Steps
Visit your dentist for a scaling (cleaning) appointment. Gum bleeding and swelling are often due to plaque and tartar buildup under the gums, which brushing cannot remove. Until your visit: Brush gently twice daily with a soft brush, focusing along the gumline. Use an antiseptic mouthwash (preferably one containing chlorhexidine) twice daily after meals. Take any vitamin C supplement to support healing (as prescribed by your doctor). If the discomfort is more, you may take a painkiller only if advised by your dentist.
Health Tips
Avoid very hot, spicy, or hard foods for now. Donât skip brushing even if gums bleed â gentle brushing actually helps healing. Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet for better gum health. â ï¸ When to Seek Immediate Care: If swelling returns or increases If thereâs pus or severe pain If you feel feverish or unwell This is not serious if treated early, and many patients feel better just 2â3 days after a proper cleaning. If youâre nearby, feel free to visit our clinic for a quick and gentle evaluation. â Dr. Nita Kalambe Shree Dental Care & Implant Center ðPoladpur | Birwadi

Hi! Your symptoms suggest gingivitis. I recommend visiting a dentist for scaling and root planing. Until then, brush twice daily for 2 minutes, use Hexidine mouthwash twice a day, and start flossing or using a water flosser.
Health Tips
You can massage your gums using a water flosser! or you can gently massage your gums with clean fingers to improve blood circulation and relieve inflammation.
