Pain after wisdom tooth stitch removal
My Right lower wisdom tooth was extracted 13 days back. It was a complex surgery as the tooth was way impacted. It was horizontal and took them around 2 hours to take it out. (pictures included) Got my stitches removed 3 days back. Had pain in the area and it's not getting better. I don't see much swelling or any taste change. It's just paining. The dentist mentioned it's healing well. And to keep the area clean. I'm following the instructions. I can see some white like substance in the extraction area. Can't see it clearly as it's a little deep. Other than that nothing is visible. Had to take painkillers today. What should I do? Should I consult another dentist? Or the pain is normal and will go away?

Hello..Horizontal disimpaction is definitely a difficult surgery..It would take some time to heal..But if the severity and frequency of pain has not reduced with time...you should definitely visit your dentist again..the white substance can be a stage of healing or it might be a dry socket..Dry socket is a common complication after wisdom surgery...It pains a lot..ur dentist will give you an alveogyl dressing for the same which will relieve your pain.
Next Steps
visit your dentist if pain still persists.

Hai It is normal to experience some pain and discomfort after wisdom tooth extraction especially horizontally impacted tooth . It will take some more time to heal . The white colored substance might be sign of healing tissue. or else It might be due to some left over debris and food impaction over there which may leads to infection.
Next Steps
Gently rinse with warm salt water a few times a day to keep the area clean and help with healing
Health Tips
check for infection - if there is an increase in pain ,redness pus ,bad odor consult your dentist immediately.

First of all, removing the tooth was a good job. The pain after the suture removal is a healing process so no need to worry. The white colour substance may be just food debris.
Next Steps
try to use mouth rinse, in case of pain over the gum areas (over the removed tooth area) consult  the doctor.
Health Tips
Try to use cold pack and kindly visit your dentist for review.

Continue with painkillers as prescribed, maintain oral hygiene, and rinse with warm saline water 3-4 times daily. Take vitamin C tablet for better healing.
Next Steps
Visit your dentist if pain persists beyond a week or worsens, as it might indicate alveolar osteitis (dry socket) or another complication.
Health Tips
Avoid smoking, vigorous rinsing, or using straws. Stick to a soft diet and keep the extraction site clean without disturbing it.

Hi, It is normal to experience mild pain for a while after the tooth extraction. Wait for a few more days, if the pain does not subside, go back to your same dentist. Take an xray of the extraction area. Do warm water rinses
