Got the root canal done on Monday morning of a partially broken tooth. It got broken by the impacted wisdom tooth. Got the wisdom tooth removed as well right after the root canal. Today is day 3 but I have pain in the root canal tooth if tapped on top by tongue. And there is swelling. These things were not there on Monday. It started on Tuesday and is more today. Is this normal or should I visit my dentist again? My medicines are till today (Augmentin 625+Imol Plus)

Pain and swelling may be due to extraction of your wisdom tooth.
You can wait for few days and if the pain still persists then visit your dentist and get it checked if the RCT is one propely.
In my opinion this pain might be because of the wisdom tooth extraction if RCT is done properly. In case of any queries you must visit your dentist for proper clinical examination.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist as soon as possible and get a correct diagnosis done.
Most relevant point here is that your impacted tooth was removed and usually it take 7-10 days to get initial healing. So in this days you will definitely experience pain and discomfort. Since Root Canal was just next to the impacted tooth there are chances that you are getting referred pain in that tooth as area surrounding wisdom tooth also gets inflamed.
Also swelling is most likely to be related to impacted tooth removal
Next Steps
start salted warm water gargles 4- times a day. Follow your Dentist after 7 days
Health Tips
Gargling and soft diet really helps in healing fast
You should visit your dentist for a check up. Though pain upon tapping is generally there after root canal completion and it gradually subsides but swelling should not be there.
Next Steps
Your dentist will do a proper evaluation of the tooth.
Hi,
The pain you are experiencing is normal. You have had your wisdom tooth also removed. The swelling is from the extraction of the wisdom tooth. The tenderness over the tooth is from the Root Canal procedure will will subside in a few days. Avoid chewing food on that side. Do warm water gargle to reduce the swelling. Take the medication as prescribed.
After a week, meet your dentist for a review.
Please observe for a few days. Since there is a history of extraction in the area there will be discomfort for few more days. Swelling is normal after extraction. More so after an impacted tooth. Your healing will take some time, may be, even more than a week. Depends upon person to person.
The tenderness in RC treated tooth could also be due to the extraction site just adjacent to it.
Follow your prescription. If pain persists only take painkillers.
Next Steps
Start warm saline rinses thrice a day for a week. this will enhance your healing
