Last week my father got a heart attack and stent implantation done, today he is getting loose motions can I give motion control medicine to him.

Don’t give anti diarrhoeals..correct dehydration by giving ors.if severe and not controlled take him to the hospital and consult the cardiologist and check serum electrolytes ,creatinine etc. and if necessary the doctor might suggest Iv fluids after checking all the parameters

Please consult his treating doctor as he would be on many meds right now, including statins, which can interact with anti diarrhoea meds.
Give him soft diet, keep him well hydrated. Many acute diarrhoea are self subsiding.

Take Balanced diet which is mentioned below,
1/3 of food plate should contain bread ( or 4 roti ), pasta, potato and rice.
1/3 of food plate should contain fruits and vegetables.
1/9 of food plate should contain fish, meat, egg, beans and other non dairy sources of protein.
1/9 of food plate should contain milk and dairy foods.
1/9 of food plate should contain food and drink high in fat and/ or sugar.

After a recent heart attack and stent, do not give an over-the-counter motion-control medicine without checking his doctor. Start ORS in small, frequent sips and continue his prescribed heart medicines; do not stop aspirin or other antiplatelets. Blood in stool, fever, repeated vomiting, severe weakness, dizziness or reduced urine needs urgent care. Please consult a doctor today because dehydration and drug interactions can be risky after a stent.

Since your father recently had a heart attack and stent placement, please do not give an anti-diarrhoeal medicine on your own without checking with his cardiologist first.
