Iron deficiency
I have less iron in my blood. What food and medicine can I take to increase levels of iron in blood? This is causing weakness and tiredness.

Hi user!!! if your a non vegetarian you can take some non veg foods like chicken, organ meets so that the iron adsorption will be more. and try to take more green leafy vegetables along with some citrus fruits like orange, lime, grapes etc..., and try to take iron rich foods along with milk and milk products, soy protein, tea, coffee to prevent nutrient and nutrient interactions and also I need to know your basic informations to make better diet plan and to identify what type of aneamia your suffering from. so that we can treat accordingly.

have green leafy vegetables. if your planning to take any supplements or drugs for this its better to take with empty stomach which will improve the absorption. and also for some people if they take iron medications with empty stomach they will have side effects like gastritis, nausea etc.., and its totally depends how your body is adopting to that particular supplements.

Rich sources is chicken, fish , red meat, then dark green leafy vegetables for better absorption take vitamin C rich sources like amla,guava, orrange,lemon.
