Hello
From your symptoms — blocked nose, watery nasal discharge, sore throat, and headache — this appears to be an episode of acute viral rhinitis (common cold) or sinus congestion. It’s self-limiting but can cause significant discomfort, especially when you have exams coming up. Let’s get you feeling better quickly.
Here’s what usually helps:
Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once daily at night – helps reduce sneezing and nasal discharge.
Tablet Paracetamol 650 mg every 6–8 hours if you have headache or body ache.
Steam inhalation 2–3 times/day – loosens mucus and relieves nasal blockage.
Warm salt water gargles twice daily for throat relief.
Nasal saline spray (like Nasivion Saline or Sterimar) to clear blocked passages.
Stay hydrated, take light warm fluids, and ensure proper rest.
If you continue to have a severe blocked nose or persistent headache beyond 3 days, a short 3–5 day course of a nasal decongestant spray or anti-inflammatory may be needed — but that should be taken under guidance, as overuse can cause rebound congestion.
Don’t worry — this typically settles within 3–4 days with proper rest and treatment.
If you’d like, I can help you with an exact day-wise recovery plan with safe medicine combinations so you’re fit for your exams and can sleep comfortably tonight.
