This looks like a viral upper respiratory infection with sinus involvement - when the maxillary sinuses get congested, the pain is felt over the whole face, upper jaw and even the gums and upper teeth, which is exactly what you are describing. The fever settling with Dolo is a good sign. Continue paracetamol 650 mg up to three times a day only if needed, take steam inhalation 2-3 times daily, saline nasal drops or spray, warm salt water gargles, and plenty of warm fluids and rest. A short course of a nasal decongestant spray (oxymetazoline) may be used for not more than 3-5 days, and an antihistamine like cetirizine at night helps the blocked feeling. Most such episodes improve in 7-10 days without antibiotics. However, if facial pain and nasal blockage continue beyond 10 days, or fever returns with thick discoloured nasal discharge and one-sided facial swelling, then it is a bacterial sinusitis and you will need a proper antibiotic on prescription. Please seek urgent care for severe headache with vomiting, neck stiffness, swelling or redness around the eye, blurred vision or confusion. Also do get a dental check if the gum and tooth pain persists after the cold clears, since a dental infection can mimic this. Feel free to consult me on Practo or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj for a proper examination.

When a bad cold and fever are accompanied by severe headache, facial pain, and aching jaws/gums, it typically points to acute sinusitis (inflammation and fluid buildup in the sinus cavities). The floor of your maxillary sinus sits directly above your upper teeth and jaw -when pressure builds up in congested sinuses, it directly radiates as severe facial pressure, jaw ache, and gum sensitivity.
Next Steps
Consult for Targeted Treatment: Connect with a doctor for a proper evaluation to receive prescription-grade nasal decongestants and suitable anti-inflammatories to relieve sinus blockage. Watch for Red Flags: Seek immediate in-person medical care if you develop swelling or redness around the eyes/cheeks, high fever rebound, a stiff neck, or visual changes. Dental Follow-up if Needed: If the gum/jaw pain remains localized to a single specific tooth even after your cold resolves, consult a dentist to rule out a localized dental issue.
Health Tips
Steam Inhalation: Take plain steam inhalation for 10 to 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day. This thins trapped mucus and relieves intense facial and jaw pressure. Warm Facial Compress: Apply a warm, damp cloth across your forehead, bridge of the nose, and cheeks to soothe aching facial muscles. Saline Nasal Rinse: Use normal saline nasal drops or spray to gently flush and clear blocked nasal passages without drying out the lining. Warm Fluids & Rest: Drink plenty of warm fluids (soups, herbal teas, warm water) throughout the day to keep secretions thin and speed up recovery.

Your body ache and facial pain lingering after the fever settled down is common with viral infections, especially when the sinuses are involved. This usually eases on its own with rest and fluids over the next few days.
Health Tips
If the facial pain or pressure continues beyond a few more days, please see a doctor to check for a sinus infection.

Hello! Your symptoms for 3 days are most likely due to an acute viral infection, although sinus involvement can also cause facial/jaw pain. Since the fever has settled but significant body pain and headache persist, focus on rest, adequate hydration, saline nasal drops, steam inhalation and paracetamol as needed. Avoid unnecessary antibiotics or decongestants without examination. If you are in a dengue prone area or have significant body aches/headache, consider evaluation for dengue and a CBC.Avoid ibuprofen/diclofenac/aspirin until dengue is ruled out.
