One of my lower front teeth chipped last year while nail bitting and I got the rough surface of the brocken area polished by visiting a dentist. I didn't do filling since it was chipped off at the backside of the teeth.Today while eating some hard food, another teeth near to the previous one also got chipped off. I'm concerned why it is getting chipped off.Is there any chance of disease or so.e kind of deficiency? Looking forward for expert opiniions. Thanks in advance.

Hello, this fracture of the teeth during nail biting is rare, check if you have Flourosis., visit your dentist for consultation., depending on the level of tooth fracture it can restored either filling, or Root canal treatment and crown placement
This can happen due to various reasons. You could have a decay already, weakend enamel which usually happens in fluorosis that is again depending on your water source or genetic predisposition, Due to forceful biting, You should get it examined once , if required post clinical examination we can advise appropriately that if you need some treatment or it can be left like this also how to prevent further chipping.
Tooth Enamel is the hardest substance in the human body.
When the teeth are weakened by decay/caries ,grinding/attrition ,trauma etc ,they can chip or fracture easily
Sometimes it may be due to calcium deficiency too .However if you have attrited tooth ( worn out tooth structure) due to any means , it is more prone to get chipped off .You may visit a dentist and get it checked.
Hi! It’s better to get an OPG done to check the extent. If it’s a minor chip, filling/bonding can fix it. If the fracture is deeper, RCT with crown may be needed. Avoid hard foods and nail biting meanwhile.
It could be due to various reasons... Like calcium deficiency, attrition, trauma from occlusion. Need to rule out the main cause and then head for the treatment.
Next Steps
see a local dentist ..in case of repetitive chipping or pain
