To reduce your cholesterol and triglycerides , follow a heart - healthy eating pattern. This means choosing variety of fresh and unprocessed foods, and limiting unhealthy fats, salt and added sugar .
A heart- healthy eating patterns is high in whole grains, fiber , vitamin and minerals and healthy fats.
Cholesterol-lowering food:
Oatmeal, oat bran and high- fibre foods. High insoluble fibre can help reduce absorption of cholesterol into blood stream. Soluble fibre is also found in kidney beans, pear, barley, prune
Add in diet fish and omega -3 fatty acids.
The worst foods for high cholesterol:
1. Red meat, beef, pork, lamb as well as processed meat like sausage
2. Full fat dairy like cream cheese, whole milk, butter
3. Baked goods and sweets

Beans make a great alternative to meat in tacos, or snack on hummus with vegetable sticks. You can also add legumes to soups, pasta sauces, curries and stews.
Use tofu or lentils instead of meat in stir fries or curries.
Choose wholegrain breads, cereals, pasta, rice and noodles.

If you are eggitarian, you can have 1 whole egg and 2-3 without yolk, because eggs have good cholesterol. As liver have ability to maintain excess cholesterol because if we take cholesterol from outer sources then liver makes only enough cholesterol that much body needs. And take vegetarian diet in which you have to add protein sources from pulses and legumes, low fat paneer, butter milk and curd.
You can have soaked almonds and walnuts in cholesterol but avoid cashews, pista and peanuts.
Limit oil in food while cooking.
You have to take baked, steamed, boiled food.
Take whole grains, legumes and pulses.
In form of sprouts, cheela, liquid daal, soups, dhokla, poha.
Take salads and fibrous fruits.
As fibers helps to flash out excess fat and lipids from blood and clean the intestine. Probiotics like curd, buttermilk, sprouts, fermented foods helps to clean gut and makes good microbes of gut healthy.
