You should have done particular abdominal and core strengthening exercises. 20 month is late for proper healing but still u can get back your abdominal muscle tone. There are many muscles situated around your core. According to researches start strengthening your transvers abdominalis muscle first then go for obliques and then rectii. Missing and messing with core muscle might delay your goal.
Next Steps
Please talk to your physio because if you do wrong exercises then it will not help you in your goal or else it can regress the case
Health Tips
Don’t do any form of crunches to strengthen your abdominal and core muscles.

Your problem could be diastasis recti due to weak abdominals. I would like to know whether you have any complications after delivery? What kind of exercises you are doing? Do you have any systemic conditions like hypertension, hypothyroidism, diabetes?
Next Steps
If you don't have any complications then you can do,   Deep breathing exercises   Pelvic bridging exercises   Ab tuck exercises.
Health Tips
For further evaluation and treatment you need consult a Physician or Physiotherapist.

You can start with a graded core strengthening exercise program along with exercises for your pelvic floor(kegel’s execise). Then, finely targeted exercises for your transversals Abdominos will supplement the benefits and fetch you the maximum gains. Furthermore, breath coordination with abdominal isometric will also help(avoid any breath holding).
Next Steps
You can consult us online on the Practo app for the best possible advice on the graded exercise protocol for strengthening the abdominal musculature.
