💩 Constipation with Hard Lumpy Stools 👋 Hello! Thank you for your query. Hard, lumpy stools (like small pellets) are a sign of constipation, often due to low fiber intake, dehydration, or irregular habits.
Next Steps
✅ Here's what you can do: 🥗 Increase fiber intake – Add fruits (papaya, banana, prunes), vegetables, and whole grains to your diet 💧 Drink at least 2.5–3 liters of water daily 🚶‍♂️ Include regular physical activity like walking 🧻 Try taking a mild stool softener like: Lactulose syrup 10–15 ml at night (osmotic laxative) Or Isabgol (psyllium husk) with warm water at bedtime 🕖 Try to maintain a fixed toilet time every day
Health Tips
Consult me: 🚨 There is blood in stool, pain while passing motion, or the constipation persists >1 week You experience abdominal bloating or vomiting ⚠️ Note: This is general advice. For chronic or recurring issues, a detailed clinical evaluation may be needed. 🙏 Wishing you smooth relief! Feel free to follow up if symptoms persist. 💬🙂

Recurrent constipation can be a gut related health problem. You have to add more fibre (raw vegetables, green leafy vegetables, prunes, etc) to add bulk to stool. Also dehydration might be causing it to form hard lumps. So increase your fluid intake levels(water and electrolytes). Also if you have no restrictions, eat a banana every night before going to sleep. Adding coconut oil or ghee in food can also be helpful. If it recurs or if you have any discomfort while passing stools later on, consult me for medications for the same.
Next Steps
Alterations in diet and increased fluid intake
Health Tips
Chronic straining can become a cause of fissures in ano, if there is any discomfort, consult asap

You mentioned you're having hard, lumpy stools for the past month, especially since a fever episode, and it also happened 3 months ago. This pattern suggests occasional constipation, possibly linked to changes in diet, hydration, or gut health after illness. If not managed, it can become recurring and uncomfortable. 👉 I recommend you consult me directly to assess the cause and guide you on safe, effective solutions: https://www.practo.com/rewa/doctor/amit-kumar-patel-generalphysician
