Pls do contact .
Dr Hemanth.
MBBS, MEM, FISR .
Hello, I understand your concern â constipation for 5 days with gas and bloating is uncomfortable but usually related to diet changes, especially outside food.
Advice
⢠Encourage him to drink 2â3 liters of water daily.
⢠Add fiber-rich foods like salads, fruits (papaya, guava), and whole grains.
⢠Light exercise and a regular sleep routine also help bowel movement.
Management
He may take a mild stool softener or syrup like Cremaffin at bedtime for short-term relief. Avoid repeated use without medical guidance. Probiotics and a balanced home diet will help restore digestion.
What to Monitor
⢠Whether bowel movement returns after these measures.
⢠Any worsening abdominal pain, vomiting, or blood in stools.
When to consult immediately
⢠If constipation persists beyond 1 week.
⢠If there is severe pain, fever, or vomiting.
⢠If stools are blood-stained or very black.
