Clear arteries still angina?
I’ve been experiencing angina-like symptoms for several months. I get intermittent chest discomfort, left arm heaviness, and jaw pressure. Today since morning, my left arm has been feeling tight and heavy, both at rest and during activity. 3 weeks ago had angiogram which showed normal arteries with zero blocks . stress echo was also normal.doc told me that despite the symptoms sounding typical of angina, they are non-cardiac. But symptoms keep returning and feel very typical of heart-related pain, I still feel worried. What could be the possible causes of such symptoms despite normal angio.. And should I be concerned about my heart?

Considering your age and previous normal angio report, most probably angina like chest pain is due to gastritis. But before coming into such a conclusion, do an ecg and do a tmt test ( to know exercise tolerance) and consult a cardiologist.if everything is normal you can treat this as severe gastritis.for further doubts do online consultation
Next Steps
visit a cardiologist

Since your stress echo turns out to be normal and also cardiologist had said you that it's non- cardiac pain I have few more questions 1) Do you have regurgitation ( it can also be gastric or duodenal ulcer) 2) R u an alcoholic ( Check your serum amylase and lipase levels) 3) Does your pain decrease with rest I would also recommend you to take an MRI Cspine with whole spine screening to rule out cervical spondylosis which also presents with similar symptoms So for more explanation and if any doubt consult with me on practo

Hello, I can completely understand how frightening and frustrating it must be to experience these symptoms, especially when you're so worried about your heart. Your feelings are valid, as the symptoms mimic heart-related pain. Let me answer your most important question first: "Should I be concerned about my heart?" The tests you had (Coronary Angiogram and Stress Echo) are the gold standard for ruling out heart artery blockages. Having a normal angiogram at age 26 is the most powerful and definitive reassurance you can get. It definitively means your symptoms, while real and uncomfortable, are not being caused by a blocked artery and you are not at risk of a heart attack from coronary artery disease. So, what are the possible causes? You are experiencing what we call Non-Cardiac Chest Pain (NCCP). This is very common. Based on your description (pain at rest and during activity), the most likely causes are: Musculoskeletal Pain: This is the #1 cause. Inflammation of the rib cartilage (Costochondritis), a pulled pectoral muscle, or even a pinched nerve in your neck (Cervical Radiculopathy) can send pain to the chest, arm, and jaw. Gastrointestinal Issues: Severe acid reflux (GERD) or esophageal spasms can feel exactly like a heart attack, including the jaw and arm pain. Anxiety/Panic: This is not 'in your head.' High anxiety and panic can cause very real, physical symptoms like chest tightness, muscle tension (in your arm/jaw), and a feeling of heaviness. The worry about the symptom then creates a feedback loop, making the symptom worse.
Next Steps
The correct next step is to stop re-investigating the heart (which we know is healthy) and start investigating these other, much more likely, causes.
Health Tips
I strongly recommend a paid consultation so we can do a deep dive into your symptoms: When do they start? Is it related to food? To posture? To stress? This will help us find the true non-cardiac source and get you the right treatment. You can book a consult via my profile.
