1. Preparation: Rest 5 min; avoid caffeine, smoking, exercise; empty bladder.
2. Position: Sit with back supported, feet flat, arm at heart level.
3. Cuff: Use correct size on bare upper arm.
4. Measurement: Take 2 readings, 1–2 min apart; average results. Check both arms once, then use higher arm.
5. Monitoring: Record daily; bring log to appointments.
6. Seek Help: BP ≥180/120 mmHg (emergency) or persistent ≥140/90 mmHg.

You need to reduce weight. Do it by diet restrictions and regular exercise.
