A single high BP reading is not enough to be classified as hypertension.Take morning and evening BP readings for a few days, check if it's above 130/80 constantly.Restrict salt intake, increase potassium rich foods, .Do 30 minutes brisk walking 5 days a week. Get your blood investigations

If there is no one in your family with hypertension then it's mostly because of your high BMI. If the BP is consistently high for many days then it's indicative of your suffering from hypertension and better to get in consultation with me with further details as it can be due to reasons related to various organ systems of the body.
Next Steps
If it's for the first time then I advise lifestyle modifications. Try to reduce salt intake in your meals, do a little bit of physical exercise everyday like walking and yoga.

You need to reduce weight.  Do it by diet restrictions and regular exercise. If it is first time of high b.p. reading, just cut salt in your diet, stay stress free and repeat b.p. reading after  4weeks and share. Get thyroid function tests and lipid profile done and share results with me.
