Bowel problem
I have been experiencing digestive issues for a long time. My bowel movements are almost always loose, watery, or poorly formed, and I rarely have normal, healthy stools. This problem has been persistent and is affecting my daily life. I would like to know the possible cause and the appropriate treatment.

Chronic loose or poorly formed stools can occur due to several conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), food intolerances (such as lactose intolerance), chronic intestinal infections, malabsorption disorders (including celiac disease), inflammatory bowel disease, thyroid disorders, or disturbances in the normal gut microbiota. A detailed history and evaluation are required to determine the exact cause. Important points include: Duration of symptoms Frequency of bowel movements Presence of blood, mucus, abdominal pain, bloating, weight loss, fever, or nocturnal diarrhea Dietary triggers Recent travel, antibiotic use, or medication history Initial investigations may include: Complete blood count (CBC) Stool routine examination and stool culture if indicated Thyroid function tests Celiac disease screening Inflammatory markers and other tests based on clinical findings Treatment depends on the underlying cause and should not be started without proper evaluation. Maintaining adequate hydration, avoiding known dietary triggers, and seeking consultation with a gastroenterologist are recommended.
