Hello 👋, I understand how distressing this can feel — don’t worry, snoring is common and often treatable. It usually happens due to nasal blockage, obesity, or relaxation of throat muscles during sleep. Here’s what you can try at home: Maintain a healthy weight; even small weight loss helps reduce snoring. Avoid alcohol and sedatives before bedtime. Sleep on your side instead of your back (you can place a pillow behind to prevent rolling). Keep your nasal passages clear — use saline nasal spray before sleeping. Elevate your head slightly with an extra pillow. Try to keep your room air moist with a humidifier if the air is dry. If snoring continues, or if you experience daytime fatigue, choking at night, or pauses in breathing, you may have sleep apnea — in that case, when possible, get an ENT or sleep specialist evaluation. Fir further more doubts connect at 9555968 one 68 For now, focus on lifestyle correction and nasal hygiene — that alone helps most patients.

Please provide duration of commencement of snoring. Get your b.p. checked. If obese, reduce weight. If you have nasal congestion,  take steam inhalation before sleeping. Try to sleep on your sides only, instead of straight. When you come to India, get sleep apnea study done.

Hello Here are few associated things that you need to rule out. 1. Obesity 2. Nasal obstruction - due to deviated nasal septum, big adenoids ( tonsil like structure behind your nose ), Rhinosinusitis. 3. Big tongue Breathing difficulty in sleep - to rule out Obstructive sleep apnea. Observe if any of these are a problem that is causing you to snore that much. You can consult.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern snoring can be very distressing and embarrassing, especially when it affects others around you. It usually happens due to partial blockage in the airway during sleep, which may occur from nasal congestion, being overweight, or sleeping position issues. Advices Try to sleep on your side instead of on your back, as this reduces airway obstruction. Maintain a healthy weight and avoid late-night heavy meals or alcohol. Keep your bedroom air slightly humid and use a pillow that keeps your head slightly elevated. What to Monitor If you experience pauses in breathing or wake up gasping for air. Whether you feel excessive daytime sleepiness, dry mouth, or sore throat after waking up. Management You may use saline nasal drops before sleeping to keep your nasal passages open. Avoid self-medicating beyond this, as long-term snoring could indicate a condition called sleep apnea that may require evaluation once you are able to consult. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately If snoring is accompanied by choking or breathlessness during sleep. If you feel very tired even after a full night’s rest. If there is morning headache or difficulty concentrating during the day. Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail. You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you will receive A personalized treatment plan Safe medicine adjustments if required Quick follow-ups to track your recovery Take care, wishing you good health. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
