Anxiety attacks can feel frightening because the body’s alarm system suddenly switches on, causing a racing heart, rapid thoughts, and intense stress sensations. Even though it feels overwhelming, these episodes are a known anxiety response and do not mean something is physically wrong or out of control permanently.
Next Steps
Since your current medicine does not seem to be helping enough, the next helpful steps may include: - Consulting your prescribing doctor or psychiatrist to review the medication, dosage, or alternatives rather than adjusting it yourself - Reaching out to a mental health professional, especially a therapist, who can teach skills to manage panic, slow racing thoughts, and reduce attack frequency - Practising breathing and grounding techniques during early signs of an attack to calm the body’s stress response - Identifying patterns such as sleep, caffeine intake, stress triggers, or overthinking loops that may be intensifying symptoms - Building daily habits that support nervous system balance, such as regular meals, rest, and gentle movement
Health Tips
Relief is possible, but anxiety usually improves best with a combination of the right treatment plan and coping skills, rather than medication alone. A professional review at this point would be a constructive next step. To know more about this, you can always reach out for help to us at nine-five-two-two-five-five-five-seven-zero-three.

Hi When anxiety attacks happen, the racing heart and chest discomfort feel unbearable, but they are a surge of adrenaline, not damage to your heart. If Petril MD 0.5 is not helping, it doesn’t mean nothing will work. Sometimes the dose, frequency, or even the type of medication needs review. Benzodiazepines are short-term calming tools, but they don’t treat the root cycle of anxiety and overthinking. An SSRI or other long-term medication may be considered by a psychiatrist if attacks are frequent. Never change or add medicines without medical supervision. More importantly, stopping the “pain” completely comes from retraining your nervous system breathing regulation, grounding, reducing catastrophic thoughts, and gradual exposure to panic sensations. Medication can support, but therapy breaks the cycle. Please consult your psychiatrist for medication review and consider structured therapy alongside. Take therapy. You will need anti-anxiety medications if you are not using already, not just petril. Will need detailed history before starting other medications.

Hello. I understand how distressing anxiety attacks and a racing heart can feel. You are not alone in experiencing this, and these symptoms are treatable. A medication like Petril (clonazepam) can sometimes help in the short term to reduce acute anxiety, but it usually does not address the underlying anxiety pattern by itself. If panic episodes and overthinking are continuing, it may mean that the overall treatment plan needs review rather than simply increasing or changing SOS medication. Anxiety attacks often improve best with a combination of approaches such as anxiety-focused therapy, lifestyle regulation, and when needed, longer-acting medications that reduce the frequency and intensity of panic symptoms over time.
Next Steps
It would be helpful to consult a psychiatrist for a review of your symptoms, current stressors, sleep pattern, and medication response so that a more comprehensive treatment plan can be made.
Health Tips
During an anxiety attack, try slow breathing by inhaling for 4 seconds and exhaling for 6 seconds. • Remind yourself that panic symptoms are uncomfortable but not dangerous. • Reduce caffeine and irregular sleep patterns, which can worsen anxiety. • Avoid increasing or repeating SOS medication without medical guidance. With the right support and treatment, panic symptoms usually become much more manageable.
