It helps you with physical symptoms such as shallow breathing and rapid heart rate, and it also helps with controlling your thoughts. When you practice deep breathing, you're forced to take your thoughts off of whatever is causing you anxiety and to focus on the breathing technique that you are using. 2.Keep A Journal Journaling can be an effective way to deal with your anxiety and to find relief. It helps you to take all of the things that are rolling around in your head and get them out of your head and down on paper. Get comfortable. You can lie on your back in bed or on the floor with a pillow under your head and knees. ... Breathe in through your nose. Let your belly fill with air. Breathe out through your nose. Place one hand on your belly. ... As you breathe in, feel your belly rise. ... Take three more full, deep breaths.
