Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Dear Friend, ACL tear is significant injury specially in young and active people. Treatment depends more upon clinical pictures than MRI. Do you have any instability while walking straight or on uneven surfaces? Do you have any pain? What kind of injury did you have? Treatment depends upon lot many factors. What are your future plans and expectations...
Next Steps
Right now, start physiotherapy for knee rehab. Get evaluated from sports medicine specialists.
Health Tips
Meniscus must not be sacrificed if it's possible to save.

Hello there....well u need to share/upload the MRI report to know the exact status of the ACL injury....as grade 3 and some grade 2 injuries require surgery...while grade1 and some grade 2 can be managed conservatively through braces and extensive physiotherapy protocol....hence its important to know the extent of injury.
Next Steps
even if you opt for surgery or without...you need to undergo a strict regime of ACL physiotherapy protocol. Regards & take care. do get back for detail analysis. (also with the sporting activity u do) (a rehab for a footballer is different to a runner) Dr Raviraj Francis MPTh(Rehab)MPT(MSK).UK

A torn ACL doesn't always mean that it needs surgery. You will need to be physically examined to see if the function of the ACL is gone. If it is not functional then a reconstruction can be recommended. It will involve a surgery and post operative rehabilitation for recovery

At your age, Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction will offer best long term results. Partial tears can be satisfactorily managed with physiotherapy.
