PICU: Mothers are allowed to visit anytime during the day or night Fathers are allowed to visit in the morning 11am to 12pm & evening 5pm to 8pm Parents may be requested to wait outside when children are being stabilised or undergoing procedures No other members of the family & children are allowed inside the Intensive Care area Wash hands well as per instructions given in hand washing area Use the alcohol hand rub at the bedside liberally before and after contact with children Routine daily progress/ Counselling about the children condition by the doctor after the rounds. What is the Admission Process?

OPD patients - when the doctor advises admission , there is admission slip handed over to the patient attendant which they need to carry to the ER and the admission process is initiated after IV cannulation and other process in the ER . IP Billing/Admission desk does the admission and informs the concerned ward secretary and floor nursing in charge about the patient admission . Direct patients to the ER - Patient is stabilised in the ER and the admission process is initiated after IV cannulation and other process in the ER . How can I get a discharge summary?

Discharge summary is handed over at the time of discharge, in case the patient needs another copy of summary they are requested to write a request letter to the MRD quoting the purpose.

Can a family member spend a night with the Patient? Will this be at an extra cost?

Accepted Answer

Yes they can. If the patient is in the room, one attender is allowed to be with the patient and can spend the night in the same room. If the patient is in NICU/ PICU, Attendant will have to take up a room at additional cost ranging from Rs 2500 - Rs.4000, subject to room availability.
